Finally finished

Finally, after almost 6 years, this quilt is finally finished
I dilly-dallied for so long as I wasn't really attracted to the result of this Stack-'nd-Wack
The fabrics are from Vietnam, except for the binding

Due to the small print on the main fabric, I thought that there wasn't an interesting movement of colours. I hand quilting it with a dark red thread and used a similar colour for the binding fabric,
and I have to say that it turned out to be a cosy quilt after all!

When we left for South America I left this quilt behind in our apartment in Holland, to have something to quilt when I was back in Holland for a visit, but I ignored the quilt a lot.
Finally I made the last stitches to the binding and my mom turned it into her comfort quilt for when the temperature drops and her daughters are far away

The next quilt is calling to be quilted, this one I have to leave behind in Holland as well as it is too big for my suitcase and the climate too hot in Ghana to hand quilt
No idea how long this one will take to be finished

While waiting for my departure to Ghana I went to the other side of Holland this last Friday
to give a workshop Busy Bee Box at a quilting bee
I filled my bags with cardboard kits, glue, brushes etc and made the trip

It was a very entertaining day and the ladies worked hard
so by the end of the day there were 10 beautiful sewing boxes on the table

Thanks ladies for the fun day and the delicious cakes!  ;)
